The Redeemed Christian Church of God (popularly called ‘RCCG’) is global and one of the fastest growing churches in the world.
It was founded by late Rev Josiah Akindayomi in 1952 in Nigeria. It started as a fellowship known as ‘Egbe Ogo-Oluwa’, (Glory of God fellowship) with nine members and later metamorphosed into RCCG.
After the demise of the founder on 2 November 1980, Pastor E. A. Adeboye took over the leadership of the church and was consecrated as the General Overseer of RCCG on the 21 January 1981.
